*It is a group of Lesbian Moms who are interested in networking within the local community of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, and the State of Michigan. They want to share information, resources, and advice. There are over 250 local families involved.

*Serves only North Oakland County. This is a grant supported non-profit agency that helps people with paying bills, finding jobs, food and prescriptions. To qualify, individuals need to show evidence of low income, driver’s license or picture ID, have not used the services of Lighthouse within the previous year. People can apply for financial assistance for paying bills, receive food once per month (canned food or boxed food), have prescriptions paid for once per year, have their first months rent and/or security deposit paid. They also have a job program to teach people how to write a resume, interview, and find area jobs.

*WIC is a program of the Michigan Department of Public Health. Need is based on size of family and income. This program is mainly for pregnant women and babies under the age of one year, and children under the age of 5. They supply coupons for various foods and provide information about nutrition.
