The Office of Metropolitan Impact provides engagement support to faculty, students and community partners through a variety of ways. OMI conducts a biennial inventory of engagement activity across campus, hosts and sponsors a variety community-based events, awards community-based research and engagement grants for faculty as well as participate in and complete a variety of other activities that support mutually beneficial community and campus engagement activities.

Inaugural Engagement Day
The University of Michigan-Dearborn is celebrating its 1st Annual Community Engagement Day on Friday, January 23, 2015 and welcomes the broad participation and attendance of faculty, students, alumni, staff and community partners from across the region. The 1st Annual Community Engagement Day will wrap up the MLK Week of Service on campus.
Hosted by the Office of Metropolitan Impact, in close collaboration with units from across campus, this event will highlight and recognize all of the many ways in which the campus has engaged with its metropolitan community over the past few years. Engagement Day will be held in Kochoff Hall of the University Center and will showcase service projects, community-based research, and related engaged activities from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
