"November Indulge" helps to provide much needed scholarship support
The CASL Alumni Affiliate hosted its eighteenth annual fund-raising event this past November 7 at the Fairlane Center. “November Indulge” provided great opportunities for networking and socializing, and the event raised several thousand dollars to support scholarships for deserving CASL students.
More than 90 alumni, faculty and friends attended the event, indulging their senses by tasting wine from the world’s leading vineyards and craft beer from local breweries — all in conjunction with Mike's Market of Dearborn Heights, by enjoying a delicious buffet dinner and mouth-watering desserts prepared by the wonderful staff at Picasso, and by listening to the live jazz music of Trio-three. Event guests also bid on one-of-a-kind auction gems that included tickets to local entertainment and sporting events, dining packages, hotel stays, and a variety of items for gift giving. The Affiliate extends its gratitude to the event sponsors and auction donors.
Photos from the event will be posted soon.
This past fall, the CASL Alumni Affiliate presented eight scholarships to CASL students for the 2014-15 academic year:
- Nichole Bowman, Microbiology
- Moleca Ghannam, Anthropology and Biological Sciences
- Susan Lowe, Sociology and Women's & Gender Studies
- Wassim Mohamad-Said, Biological Sciences
- Hailey Muscarella, Psychology
- Jared Stothers, Psychology
- Natosha Tallman, Communication
- Alexandria Williams, Behavioral Sciences

Because of our generous “November Indulge” supporters, the group will once again be interviewing students and presenting awards for the 2015-16 academic year. Information on how you can support the CASL Alumni Affiliate Scholarship can be found here.
The Affiliate is also seeking alums to be involved in the CASL Alumni Affiliate Governing Board. All CASL, IDS, and pre-1982 Education grads are encouraged to apply.
