Science Learning Center

The Science Learning Center is here to help all students succeed in science courses and laboratories.

Our goal is for all science students to have the same opportunity for success in science courses. We are here to help you:

  • Study for your science courses individually or with a study group. Drop in any time!
  • Practice essential mathematical, graphing and laboratory skills in our modules before you need them in class.
  • Practice using laboratory instruments at your own pace before you use them in the lab.

How to visit the Science Learning Center

Natural Sciences Building South

During the Winter 2024 semester, we'll be in-person (NSBS 1143) with limited virtual availability

Hours: Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM-5:30 PM and Friday: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional extended hours

Why study at the SLC?

  • You can work together and share ideas with other students in an informal, collaborative environment
  • You can use our resources: textbooks, model kits, computers, whiteboards, and more
  • You can get support: we can help you figure out study strategies or make sense of difficult course topics (please note that we can't directly give or check answers)

Supported Courses

Support for all introductory (100-level) science courses is available during all open hours. We also have student consultant drop-in hours focused on specific courses: Current course-specific drop-in hours
