Engineering and Computer Science Experience
and contest for high school students

The tenth annual Engineering and Computer Science Experience is scheduled on Saturday, March 21, 2015, in the Institute for Advanced Vehicle Systems building on the UM-Dearborn campus. Junior- and senior-level high school students are invited to participate in one of four contests--robotics, programming, simulation, or game design--to compete for the following prizes:

ROBOTICS
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $350 Cash Award
Third Place: $1,000 CECS Scholarship or $200 Cash Award

PROGRAMMING
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $350 Cash Award
Third Place: $1,000 CECS Scholarship or $200 Cash Award

SIMULATION
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $350 Cash Award

GAME DESIGN
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $350 Cash Award

Each contest requires that students be registered as part of a two-person team. Registration for this event (by a teacher/counselor sponsor) will be open from January 30 to March 4, 2015.

Space is limited. The maximum number of teams for each competition is: robotics: 50 teams, programming: 50 teams, simulation: 15 teams, and game design: 25 teams.*

*Schools are initially limited to registering 6 teams for the robotics competition, 6 teams for the programming competition, 3 teams for the game design competition, and 1 team for the simulation competition.
