Engineering/Computer Science Experience
and contest for high school students

The ninth annual Engineering/Computer Science Experience was held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the Institute for Advanced Vehicle Systems building on the UM-Dearborn campus. Junior- and senior-level high school students were invited to participate in one of four contests-robotics, programming, simulation, or game design-to compete for the following prizes:

ROBOTICS
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $1,000 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $750 Cash Award
Third Place: $1,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash Award
Honorable Mention: $100 Amazon.com Gift Card

PROGRAMMING
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $1,000 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $750 Cash Award
Third Place: $1,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash Award


SIMULATION
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $1,000 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $750 Cash Award

GAME DESIGN
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $1,000 Cash Award
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $750 Cash Award

Each contest required that students compete as part of a two-person team, and more than 200 students participated. Inquiries regarding the Engineering/Computer Science Experience should be directed to kathrynt@umich.edu.
