For more than 35 years, the University of Michigan-Dearborn has honored outstanding alumni for their contributions to the University and community. These men and women are "difference makers" who have continued the University's legacy of leadership in their lives and careers. The College of Business is pleased to have three of its alumni honored this year:
Distinguished Alumnus of the Year
This award honors a University of Michigan-Dearborn graduate who exemplifies outstanding leadership in his or her field, a dedication to philanthropic values, and a personal commitment to service in his or her community.
J. Terry McElroy ('76 BBA), Executive Vice President of AAA Michigan, will be named the University of Michigan-Dearborn's 2014 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year.
College of Business Alumnus of the Year
This award honors a graduate of the College of Business who has shown outstanding professional accomplishments in his or her field, has demonstrated public service and leadership, and is engaged in the advancement of the College of Business and its alumni.
Dan Wakeman (’78 BSA), President of St. Luke’s Hospital-ProMedica Health System (Ohio), will be named the University of Michigan-Dearborn's 2014 College of Business Alumnus of the Year.
Jeanette Schumacher Alumni Service Award
This award honors a graduate who provides important leadership and service to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Award winners have distinguished themselves by the energy, effort and creativity they demonstrate in addressing a challenge.
Jerry Mollien (’71 BBA), Executive Vice President of Corporate Tax at Masco (retired), will be honored with the University of Michigan-Dearborn's 2014 Jeanette Schumacher Alumni Service Award.
