Direct Service

The CIViC offers a variety of opportunities for students to get involved in direct service, for example, planting a garden, cleaning a park, or packing food boxes! Through their work, volunteers are able to address some of the social issues Detroit and its’ surrounding areas currently face. Not only are direct service projects great for helping others in need, they’re also good opportunities for making friends, completing service projects, and introducing  volunteers to new and important issues in Detroit.

Additionally, the CIViC is happy to student organizations, or others wishing to engage in service, to set up projects and opportunities to make an impact in the community!  With a partner list over over 150+ community agencies, the CIViC has connections across the Southeastern Michigan region and beyond!

Through the 2012-2013 school year, UM-Dearborn deployed well over 1,000 volunteers in service to their communities!

Please check out the dates for the upcoming projects and be sure to sign up at the CIViC!
