Campus to recognize International Women's Day with free panel discussion March 12

DEARBORN / March 7, 2008---The University of Michigan-Dearborn will recognize International Women’s Day with a panel discussion, “Immigrant Women: Overcoming the Odds, Searching for Home,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in Room 1030 of the campus’s College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters Building.
Panelists will include Anan Ameri, director of the Arab American National Museum; Elena Herrada, director of Centro Obrero Detroit; and Pegg Roberts, executive director of Freedom House Detroit.
A reception will follow the discussion.
The event is co-sponsored by UM-Dearborn’s Women’s and Gender Studies Program, Women in Learning and Leadership and the Women’s Resource Center.
