DEARBORN / Nov. 10, 2006---Beginning next month, the Henry Ford Estate will host a line-up of activities and programs that give patrons a chance to experience the holiday season at the mansion.
Festivities such as a high tea, concerts, luncheons, candlelight tours, Santa’s workshop and dinner receptions are scheduled through the end of December.
“At no other time of the year is the Estate more vibrant than the holiday season,” said Gary Rodgers, general manager of the Estate. “This highly anticipated period is a favorite of many because the Estate is transformed into an enchanted and whimsical holiday hamlet. All three floors of the Estate are adorned and decorated to highlight not only the ambiance and elegance of the house, but also the festive warmth of the season.”
This year’s holiday season is themed “Christmas Through a Child’s Eye” and the Estate will be decorated by some of Michigan’s most renowned florists who donate their services, Rodgers said.
Annual holiday activities returning this year include a holiday high tea on Dec. 13; a holiday luncheon on Dec. 5, 7, 12 and 14; a holiday luncheon concert on Dec. 15; Santa’s workshop on Dec. 8; candlelight tours of the Estate on Dec. 19 and Dec. 26; and a holiday dinner reception on Dec. 14.
Admission cost for the programs range from $9 to $54 and reservations are required. For participants who are interested in a table for a group of six or more, advance reservations are encouraged.
