Dearborn resident Lee A. Morris receives community service award from UM-Dearborn

DEARBORN / July 27, 2007---Lee A. Morris, manager of Dearborn Hills Golf Course, received the Community Service Award from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in a ceremony this spring.
Morris, a mentor to the chairs and volunteers of the Alumni Societyís annual Legacy Scholarship Golf Outing event, has been instrumental in the success of the outings which have raised close to $200,000 for the Alumni Legacy Scholarship. He also is active in the community, where he provides leadership as a member of the Dearborn Youth Affairs Committee and as a coach of youth soccer teams.
As part of the Dearborn Recreation Department, Morris organizes events such as Breakfast with Santa, Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and Haunted Halloween Hayrides. He has served on several community boards, including the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce, the Karmanos Cancer Center and the Dearborn Animal Shelter. Under Morrisís leadership, Dearborn Hills was voted Michiganís Best Public Golf Course in 2006 by The Detroit News.
Morris is a resident of Dearborn.
