The University of Michigan-Dearborn's Institute for Local Government's mission is to increase the capacity of locally elected officials to govern effectively and address local needs with a regional perspective.
Interested in attending IFLG seminars, but don't have training dollars in your budget?
Contact IFLG to see if you can take advantage of the Miller Canfield Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible through the generous support of the Miller Canfield law firm, which has provided this support to help municipal leaders continue to enhance their expertise in these financially challenging times.
Free Assistance to Local Governments!!!
The Institute for Local Government (IFLG), in cooperation with the University’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Master of Public Policy (MPP) programs, recently solicited proposals from local government agencies interested in having a team of MPA/MPP students assist them with conducting research, analysis, and related technical assistance necessary for addressing a management or policy issue faced by that governmental body.
The City of Novi's proposal was selected for the partnership. The IFLG/MPA/MPP team will work with the City of Novi's Public Administration Team to conduct research on service delivery models.
This is the second annual partnership project of the Institute. Partnership projects will be an on-going activity of the Institute. Stay tuned for future opportunities for your community to become one of our partners.
