“The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step.”

We are delighted that you have chosen the University of Michigan-Dearborn to start, or continue, your higher education journey. We, in the Office of Admissions and Orientation, are committed to assisting you in your transition to UM-Dearborn and getting you started on your way to academic success.

The next step to getting you on your way is attending your orientation program. Orientation allows you to experience UM-Dearborn up close and personal. You will be introduced to campus procedures, services, and facilities; participate in an advising session with an academic advisor, and register for classes. You will also obtain your student ID and parking permit. The Office of Admissions and Orientation works closely with faculty and staff to give you the best overall experience to kick off your years here. It is through our close ties that we are able to give you the information you want and need that will be invaluable to your transition. From information about buying textbooks, to choosing a student organization to belong to or just figuring out the best places to study on campus, we cover everything and make sure that your orientation experience is comprehensive.

I am certain that in your taking advantage of everything UM-Dearborn has to offer you- from attending lectures, to participating in student clubs and sports, to cultivating lasting relationships with students, staff and faculty- these will be some of the great times you will remember for years to come.

On behalf of the University of Michigan-Dearborn community, I welcome you to the Michigan family and wish you the absolute best in your educational and personal growth.

Go Blue!!
