Faculty are strongly encouraged to present new and modified undergraduate and graduate degree majors, concentrations, minors, and certificates originating within a discipline/department to the University Curriculum and Degree Committee or its Graduate Subcommittee for discussion before seeking approval in a college. The process is designed to provide faculty with advice and support by offering faculty resources to conduct market research, assess resource needs, and determining the financial feasibility of the proposed action.

A faculty member should submit a copy of the Academic Action Request Form to the Office of Academic Affairs for consideration by the University Curriculum and Degree Committee or its Graduate Subcommittee.
