Diplomas are not presented at the commencement ceremony; they are ordered approximately 6 weeks after the degree is granted. Diplomas are not prepared on campus; therefore, a guaranteed delivery date is not possible.
Diplomas are mailed to the address recorded in the Office of Registration and Records unless otherwise noted on the Degree/Diploma Application.
Please note: If you have a financial hold, your diploma will not be mailed to you until the financial hold has been released.

Note: Minors and major concentrations DO NOT appear on diplomas. The optional larger size diploma includes major.
Graduates may order multiple copies of their diploma. Complete and forward the Duplicate Diploma Request Form or the Larger Diploma Request Form along with the appropriate fee to the Office of Registration and Records. Requests for dulpicate and larger diplomas will not be processed untill after original diplomas have been sent.

Graduates may purchase a signed and certified PDF of their diploma for a one-time fee of $5.00. Graduates pay the $5.00 fee (per degree) directly to our diploma vendor, the Michael Sutter Company, and the eDiploma is accessible for life. The eDiploma may be used for jobs, work visas, or other degree verification purposes. The eDiploma is offered in addition to the free diploma issued to all graduates.
Recent graduates will receive an email containing a secure login ID and a link for ordering the eDiploma once their original diploma has been mailed. Many past graduates can order the eDiploma online via Michael Sutter’s website. Graduates must know their University of Michigan-Dearborn ID number to log in to the website.
Alumni who graduated prior to April 2006, need to order and pay for a duplicate diploma to allow our vendor to have the details necessary to produce a PDF copy. A printable duplicate diploma request form is available above. An eDiploma login ID will be issued once the replacement order has been processed.
Students with a financial hold cannot receive an eDiploma until the hold is cleared and their original diploma has been issued.
Graduates have six months from the receipt of their diploma to notify Enrollment Services/Registration and Records of grammatical errors on your diploma. After this six month period, a duplicate diploma order is required.
Graduates who want their names to appear differently on their diploma than it does on their registration must supply legal documentation (driver or marriage license, passport, divorce decree, etc) along with their diploma request.
