Enrollment is open for summer course in international business

DEARBORN---The University of Michigan-Dearborn's School of Management is partnering with the University of Padua in Italy to offer a summer program for undergraduate students wishing to study international business.

The International Summer Program in Management (ISPM) will present "Business Strategies & Procedures for Growth: European vs. American Approaches" July 17 through August 20 on the U-M Ann Arbor campus. The program is open to students from all undergraduate majors.

"In today's global economy, students with international experience have a significant advantage on the job market," according to Aaron Ahuvia, professor of management studies at UM-Dearborn. "Students in the International Summer Program in Management will study cutting-edge international business topics with students from around the world. This year's course combines seminars from top Italian professors who are flying in to teach this course, with seminars from UM-Dearborn professors."

The ISPM offers more than a typical class, including extracurricular social events and participative learning experiences. The program's cost is the same as a 4-credit course plus a $200 activity fee. There is no textbook, so this can help offset the cost, Ahuvia said.

To register, students must enroll in both IB486a (CRN 32190) and IB486b (CRN 32191) and submit an application online at Class size is limited.
