UM-Dearborn streamlines admissions and registration for new and transfer students
DEARBORN---New students at the University of Michigan-Dearborn will
be able to complete the application and admissions process in a single
day through the month of August.
"In the last few years, we have had several days during the summer
that were 'on-site admissions days' where a student could get through
the admissions process all at once," according to Ray Metz, interim
director of the campus's admissions office. "This year we are making
every day an on-site admissions day, primarily to make it easier for students,
especially transfer students, to get admitted."
Through August 31, high school graduates and college transfer students
can meet with an admissions counselor, have their transcripts reviewed,
apply for financial aid, tour the campus, and receive an on-site admission
decision-all in one day.
In addition, the regular $30 application fee will be waived for students
taking part in the program.
Potential students will need to bring a copy of their high school or
college transcripts and proof of citizenship, if applicable. In addition
to the streamlined admissions process, the campus has introduced some
new scholarships for transfer students.
Hours for the admissions office are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.
to 7 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, July 9 from 9 a.m.
to 1 p.m.
