Child Development Center to host open house March 22

DEARBORN---The Child Development Center at the University of Michigan-Dearborn will showcase its programs and specialized day camps during an open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 in Room 104 of the Academic Support Center, located off of the campus's Fair Lane Drive.

The event will provide an opportunity to learn about the Child Development Center's "Explorations in Science" day camp, scheduled for July 10 through July 21, as well as the center's "World Travelers" day camp, scheduled for July 24 through August 4.

During "Explorations in Science," children will experience two weeks of hands-on science explorations and discoveries while learning about kitchen chemistry, motion and gravity, air and air pressure, dinosaur study and paper making. The camp will receive a live animal visit from Science Alive! A science fair will be held on the last day of camp.

During "World Travelers," children will explore aspects of different cultures and collect stamps in their passport and they "travel" the globe. Activities will include learning about food, literature, music, art and language from cultures around the globe. Families can attend a "world fair" on the last day of camp.

The cost of each camp is $335. Those who register prior to April 30 will receive a $25 discount per camp.
