Vision 2020 is well underway. In 2011, we combined the essential, historically grounded work of reaccreditation and the future-oriented visioning and strategic planning.
The perspectives, insights, and experiences of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners informed our campus-wide goals and priorities, which address this important question: "What will the University of Michigan-Dearborn look like in the year 2020?"
Cross campus teams advanced our strategic goals and priorities from 2011-2014. Their accomplishments include the launch of a new college, implementation of an accelerated plan for technology and the web, development of an outcome-based general education curriculum, fourteen new academic programs, and increased resources dedicated to teaching, learning, community engagement and research.
In Winter of 2014, faculty, staff, and students refined our strategic goals and priorities. At the May 2015 Steering Committee meeting, updates were presented to Vision 2020 goals for AY 14-15.
The Vision 2020 Steering Committee, with membership from faculty, students, and staff, guides the realization of these goals and priorities, and engages the campus in this work via twice-yearly, campus-wide forums to celebrate successes and refine our efforts.
