SUBJECT: New Online Registration Procedures

Dear Faculty,

As our campus community continues to manage the impact of the global coronavirus pandemic, the University has been working quickly and diligently to provide options for new ways to conduct campus business related to registration, grade processing, and other Enrollment Management issues.

Below, please find important updates about changes, to processes that were previously paper-based in particular, that we want to ensure are clearly communicated as we all move to remote operations.

Faculty Approved Course Registration for Summer 2020/Fall 2020:

For courses that required a special paper form in the past (i.e. independent study, directed study, master’s project, master’s thesis), we have outlined an alternative process to take the place of in-person forms.

For courses that required a paper Add & Drop/Authorization form in the past (including co-op), we have outlined an alternative process here to take the place of in-person forms.

Winter 2020 Grade Submission Deadline:

The grade submission deadline has been extended to 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

Winter 2020 Grading Processes:

The campus previously announced a change to course grading options for students. You may submit your grades as you normally would, and the grades will be automatically converted to P/FCV for students who choose the pass/fail option.

Faculty grading begins for Winter 2020 in late April. Please be aware that we are continuing to develop a workflow to take the place of the current paper-based grade change process. We will update you when the process has been finalized.

M-SUCCESS Reminder:

Faculty are encouraged to report, through M-Success, any student who they feel may need additional assistance in managing through the transition to remote delivery - whether academically or personally. Directions on how to report can be found here.

As our community navigates this unprecedented territory, we are ready to provide guidance and help with anything you may need. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have additional questions. Specific registration process questions can be directed to [email protected]

Sincerely,

Tim Taylor, University Registrar
