Maize Orientation Day is a 3.5 hour event that provides an introduction to the campus community and its resources. You will be able to meet other incoming and current students and academic advisors, and register for classes. You will also take a photo for your MCard student ID.

Placement Exams and Maize Orientation Day
The English Placement Exam is required for all new students, regardless of previous coursework.
The Math Placement Exam is required for most students. Please visit the Math Placement Exam page to learn more.

- Monday, June 10, 5:00-8:30 pm
- Tuesday, June 25, 1:30-5:00 pm
- Friday, July 12, 9:00-12:30 pm
- Thursday, July 25, 1:30-5:00 pm
- Tuesday, August 6, 5:00-8:30 pm
- Thursday, August 15, 1:30-5:00 pm
- Monday, August 26, 5:00-8:30 pm
You must be present for your entire session.
Your Wolverine Identity
When you were admitted, you should have received an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with instructions on setting up your uniqname and umich.edu email account. This email also included your 8-digit University of Michigan ID number (UMID).
You must have both the UMID and uniqname to sign up for placement exams and orientation, and register for classes. After you have created your uniqname, please allow two business days for it to be added to our system.
Prepare now by obtaining your uniqname and ensure you know your UMID.
Go Blue Orientation Day
Join new incoming Wolverines on Tuesday, September 3, from 1-7 pm, at Go Blue Orientation Day and Convocation to celebrate the start of the school year and introduce you to our traditions, experiences and what it means to be a part of an inclusive community!

The Wolverines. Orientation. Welcome. (W.O.W.) Metro Experience is an optional adventure/college prep experiences for incoming students. The trip will assist you in getting to know your future classmates - and yourself - a little better and challenge you in ways that will help prepare you for life at UM-Dearborn.
