Biography and Education

Alicia Schaeffer teaches Composition, Rhetoric, Creative Writing, Technical Writing, and Business Writing at UM-Dearborn, and served as a Faculty Consultant at the Writing Center. She teaches creative writing workshops in Metro Detroit. She taught composition and creative writing in New York, at SUNY-Purchase and the Westchester County Correctional Facility, and conducted corporate training. She has also worked in corporate communication, literary publishing, and film production and development. Alicia holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. Her nonfiction and fiction have been published in Post Road, Word Riot, The Harlem Times, Georama Travel, and Woman Around Town, and forthcoming in Beyond Service.
