The focus is on the study of human beings through material culture throughout the historic period (about the last 500 years), with collections and projects ranging from the Caribbean to Massachusetts to right here in Michigan.  Students are using the lab as part of independent study projects, field classes (ANTH 410: Archaeological Field School), and particularly for ANTH 201: Introduction to Archaeology, offered each Winter term.
