Community Service Personnel Scholarships continue to expand

The Farmington Hills Police Department has partnered with the University of Michigan-Dearborn to take advantage of the University’s Community Service Personnel Scholarship program.

The Farmington Hills Police Department has partnered with the University of Michigan-Dearborn to take advantage of the University’s Community Service Personnel Scholarship program. The University of Michigan-Dearborn provides a scholarship valued at 20% of tuition and fees for public safety employees at partnering organizations.  The scholarship is available for degree-seeking students and can be used for undergraduate and graduate programs. All employees of the Farmington Hills Police Department, including its 190 officers, are eligible for the scholarship. Present at the signing was Asst. Chief Daniel Rodriguez who is already enrolled in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Master's degree program at the University.

Other participating agencies include the Allen Park Police Department, City of Dearborn Heights, Dearborn Police Department, Detroit Public Safety (Police, Fire, and EMS), Huron Township Police Department, Lathrup Village Public Safety (Police, Fire, and EMS), Macomb County Sheriff's Department, Michigan Department of State Police, Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Novi Police Department, Oakland County Circuit Court, Oakland County Sheriff's Office, City of Plymouth, Plymouth Township, Southfield Public Safety (Police, Fire, and EMS), Taylor Police Department, United States Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Washtenaw County Circuit Court​, Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Wayne County Circuit Court, and Woodhaven Police Department.
