The 2020 Southeast Michigan Writing Center Directors’ Meet-Up is now in its third year! (postponed — new date TBA)

The writing centers at University of Michigan-Dearborn and Henry Ford College welcome you to Dearborn for a day of writing center(-ed) networking, discussion, and goal setting.

We’ll begin our morning with coffee, tea, toast, and getting to know one another by Mapping Our Paths to and through writing center work.

We’ll then focus on Doing the To-Do List, learning from one another about how we navigate our ongoing commitments and tasks and also how we think about goal setting, with a focus on tools and processes for making everything from daily tasks to yearly assessment more efficient.

We’ll take time to think about Political Action and Unrest in our writing centers as we navigate our staff and students through their writing during an increasingly polarized time.

And, during lunch, we’ll meet in Special Topics groups to continue previous discussions or focus on other challenges we face in our work.

We’re very much looking forward to a day of community with our writing center colleagues from secondary schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges in southeast Michigan.

We hope you’ll join us.

Feel free to share this event with other writing center administrators, coordinators, or directors you know locally or within SE Michigan!

Please RSVP by [TBA], and reach out if you have any questions.
