What is the Soul of Success/AAAS Retreat?

The Soul of Success (SOS) Retreat was created to provide four things for those students who attend the FREE two-day weekend event:

  • Exposure to academic, community and cultural resources, institutions, and individuals in metropolitan Detroit.

  • Motivation to identify and successfully complete their educational journey.

  • Professional development, career planning, and graduate school information.

  • Opportunities to connect with AAAS faculty, other UM-Dearborn staff, and other students.

  • Students wishing to attend the overnight retreat must complete and submit all required information on the online SOS RETREAT REGISTRATION. Deadline to apply is Sunday, September 22 at midnight.

  • All undergraduate students at UM-Dearborn are eligible. However, priority will be given to those who have not previously attended the Soul of Success Retreat.

  • Those students who have been selected to participate in Soul of Success Overnight Retreat will be contacted by email and telephone.  Please make sure that you provide a cell phone or other telephone number where you can be contacted during business hours. Notification of selection will be made by September 24.

  • Selected students must be available for both days of the retreat, from 10 a.m. on Friday, October 4 through 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 5.

  • All meals and lodging costs are covered for selected students. The retreat is FREE.

  • For questions concerning the retreat, contact the College-wide Program Office: 313-593-4925.
