CIS faculty received an NSF research grant
Dr. Luis Ortiz, Associate Professor of Computer and Information Science, received an NSF grant to support his research on exploring a game-theoretic approach to strategic behavior in networks.
Dr. Luis Ortiz, Associate Professor of Computer and Information Science, received an NSF research grant in an amount of $228,919 to support his project entitled "Influence Games: A Game-theoretic Approach to Strategic Behavior in Networks" from 8/1/2019 to 7/31/2022 . This research investigates several important open directions in the computational game-theoretic study of influence in networks. It addresses a variety of fundamental research problems, including the question of identifying "most influential" individuals in a network. The research significantly departs from the well-studied approaches to influence maximization as well as the traditional centrality measures in social network analysis.
