CIS faculty received research grants

Drs. Eshete, Kessentini, and Abouelenien received research funding to support their projects from NSF/UIC, eBay, ETS, and MTRAC

Dr. Birhanu Eshete (PI) received a research grant from the National Science Foundation and University of Illinois at Chicago for his project entitled "MALDIVES: Developing a Comprehensive Understanding of Malware Delivery Mechanisms" in the amount of $54,263 from 8/16/2019 to 9/30/2020.

Dr. Marouane Kessentini (PI) received research funds from the eBay Faculty Research Program for his project entitled "An Unrestricted Gift Support for the Intelligent Software Engineering Lab to Build the Next Generation of Software Maintenance Bots" in the amount of $100,000, starting 10/23/2019 for one year.

Dr. Mohamed Abouelenien (PI) received a research grant from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) for his project entitled "Developing Machine Vision Techniques for Automated Scoring of Visual Models" in the amount of $45,000 from 12/1/2019 to 9/30/2020.

Dr. Marouane Kessentin (PI) received a research grant from the Michigan Translational Research Commercialization (MTRAC) for his project entitled "Software Refactoring Technology for Continuous Quality and Security Checking" in the amount of $75,000. Dr. Kessentini is one of three grant recipients as the first cohort of the MTRAC Innovation Hub for Advanced Computing.
