CIS faculty were recognized in professional communities

Drs. Anys Bacha, Birhanu Eshete, William Grosky, Marouane Kessentini, and Qiang Zhu in the Computer and Information Science Department received new professional honors and recognitions.

Dr. Anys Bacha, Assistant Professor of Computer and Information Science, and his co-authors received the Best Paper Award for their paper at the International Symposium on High Performance and Computer Architecture (HPCA 2020).

Dr. Anys Bacha, Assistant Professor of Computer and Information Science, and his co-authors received the honor of IEEE Micro Top Picks Honorable Mention for their paper at the International Conference on Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques (PACT 2019).

Dr. Birhanu Eshete, Assistant Professor of Computer and Information Science, was selected as one of the featured speakers at the 2020 USENIX ENIGMA Conference.

Dr. William Grosky, Professor of Computer and Information Science, was invited to serve as a Co-Chair of the 3rd International Workshop on Data Engineering meets Intelligent Food & Cooking Recipes 2020 (DECOR2020@ICDE).

Dr. Marouane Kessentini, Associate Professor of Computer and Information Science, was selected to serve as the Program Chair of the 28th IEEE International Conference on Software Analysis, Evolution and Reengineering (SANER 2021).

Dr. Marouane Kessentini, Associate Professor of Computer and Information Science, was invited to give a keynote at the 9th International Conference on Software and Systems Reuse (ICSR 2020).

Dr. Qiang Zhu, Professor of Computer and Information Science, was invited to serve as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems (T-ITS).

Dr. Qiang Zhu, Professor of Computer and Information Science, and his co-authors received the honor of the Best Paper Award Finalist for their paper at the 35th International Conference on Computers and Their Applications (CATA 2020).
