CIS welcomes new faculty members

The CIS Department welcomes Drs. Jin Lu, Niccolo Meneghetti, and Probir Roy to join the department in Fall 2019.

Dr. Jin Lu has joined the CIS Department as an Assistant Professor. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut in 2019. His research interests include data science, machine learning, data minining, optimization, recommendation system, health informatics, and bioinformatics. His work has been published in top venues in his field including IEEE Transactions on Big Data, NIPS, BIBM, and IEEE Big Data.

Dr. Niccolo Meneghetti has joined the CIS Department as an Assistant Professor. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2016. His research interests include probabilistic databases, uncertain data management, statistical relational learning, and preference learning and elicitation. His work has been pulished in top venues in his field including ACM Transactions on Database Systems, PVLDB, and SIGMOD.

Dr. Probir Roy has joined the CIS Department as an Assistant Professor. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary in 2019. His research interests include high performance computing, parallel and distributed systems, operating systems, data centers, compiler analysis, and programming model. His work has been published  in top venues in his field including ACM Transactions on Architecture and Code, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, CGO, and HPDC.
