Welcome Dr. Doohyun Kim, our new Assistant Professor for the ME Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering would like to introduce Dr. Doohyun Kim, our new Assistant Professor.
Dr. Doohyun Kim's research covers a wide range of energy-related topics including internal combustion engines, combustion kinetics, alternative fuels, emissions, and life cycle analysis. He uses computational approaches such as detailed kinetic modeling and CFD simulations as well as experimental methods to create more efficient and sustainable energy conversion processes. He received his Ph.D. (2016) and M.S.E. (2009) in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his B.S. in mechanical engineering at the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in Pohang, Korea. Before joining UM-Dearborn, he was an assistant professor at Hongik University in Seoul, Korea.
