Pursue your passion.

Your journey on the path to a rewarding career begins with the process of discovery and self-assessment. Learning about your options, developing new skills, and exploring your strengths now can help you define career interests later. You don't have to figure all of it out right now, but you can start defining your career plans by setting long-term goals, pursuing on-campus activities, and meeting with an Internship and Career Management Center (ICMC) career counselor.

You want to pursue opportunities that match with your values, but are also needed in the marketplace. Take some personal assessments. Give some focused thought as to what they are telling you. Use the Myers-Briggs assessment at the Office of Career Services to discover what majors, careers, and communication styles compliment your personality type. Other helpful assessments include FOCUS and Strong Interest Inventory, both of which can also be taken at the Office of Career Services.

Career Counseling

Our doors are always open to help students on a one-on-one basis.  Some students drop in for a brief conversation while other schedule a more private counseling session with someone from our staff to help them with the myriad of challenges that they may face in their personal career dilemmas.

Feel free to use this support whenever you need it. Take advantage of our open office hours and simply stop by the ICMC office in FCN Suite 285 on Wednesdays between 2:00 and 5:00 PM to meet with a career counselor.

Requesting a Career Counseling Appointment

You can request an appointment with members of the ICMC staff by logging into Symplicity/Career Connections or by sending your request via email.

On-site Job Shadowing / Informational Opportunities

Many of our partner employers offer job shadowing and/or on-site informational interviews for COB students. These opportunities can consist of a quick half hour interview, half-day or full-day job shadowing, facility tours, presentations and many other opportunities to take a look inside a company. If you have a company in mind, please see the ICMC staff to begin the process. We can find a contact in that company that you can reach out to and make a connection.
