"For Women in Entrepreneurship Week, we organized a day of panel discussions and vendor tables to showcase women entrepreneurs in our community. We want our students to know that entrepreneurship is a path that is open to them.

"Entrepreneurship is about doing something. You can talk about it in the classroom, you can have students think about it, but bringing in actual entrepreneurs whom the students can speak with one-on-one just adds texture to what we're trying to do in the BBA program. Many of the students exchanged information with our pop-up vendors, and they plan to follow them on social media and keep in touch. This event added value not only for our students, but also for the women who were able to market their businesses and talk about their passions."

Student Feedback:

“I really enjoyed the pop-up event and panel discussion. During the pop-up event I talked with some of the entrepreneurs, and we exchanged information to collaborate in the near future.”

“I enjoyed the panel and learned a lot from the women's stories. I think one of the best things they did was provide advice on how they overcame mistakes and struggles. Often times you only hear the best parts of the story, but there is value hearing about the mistakes and the struggles.”

“I thought the experience was great, and I was so impressed with Terri, the yoga instructor, that I recommended her to the holistic facility where I work. The facility is interviewing her this next week to see if she would be a good fit to work with our patients.”
