Congratulations on your admission!
We are thrilled that you've chosen to join our campus community. Here are the important next steps that you should be taking:
Math Placement Exam
- Freshman students must take the Math Placement Exam prior to attending orientation.
- Transfer students without credit for the math requirement, must take the Math Placement Exam by the sixth week of their first semester, although completion prior to orientation is strongly suggested.
All new students are required to complete a UM-Dearborn orientation program.
Freshman Orientation
Transfer Orientation
During orientation, students are introduced to the College of Business curriculum, policies, and procedures. They will have the opportunity to ask questions, talk with the academic advisors directly, and register for classes.
Prior to Orientation
Students who are admitted already having college-level credits (transfer courses, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and CLEP) will receive a Transfer Equivalency Worksheet (TEW) from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This will show how your courses were transferred to UM-Dearborn.
Review the TEW to make sure that all courses you've completed are listed and to ensure that you understand the transfer credit you received for each. At orientation, an advisor will explain how the courses were distributed and which courses remain to complete the degree.
After Orientation
If you still have courses in progress at the time of your orientation, make sure to have an official copy of your final transcripts sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions once you have completed them.
Financial Aid
If you have not done so already, now is the time to apply for financial aid by submitting the FAFSA. Our school code is 002326.
Establishing Michigan Residency
If upon admission, your residency status is noted as out-of-state, you can appeal the decision using the information on the University of Michigan Office of the Registrar website.
