January 10, 2021

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced last week that beginning Monday, January 11, organizations throughout the state can begin vaccinating those in the Phase 1B category (including individuals 65 years or older).

Faculty and Staff,

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced last week that beginning Monday, January 11, organizations throughout the state can begin vaccinating those in the Phase 1B category (including individuals 65 years or older). This does not mean that everyone in Phase 1A has been vaccinated but as we have heard previously from MDHHS, the rollout will consist of overlapping phases. We also know that vaccine availability is still a challenge throughout the state.

All U-M faculty and staff who are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from Michigan Medicine will need to do the following:

  1. Complete the Blue Queue questionnaire
  2. A Michigan Medicine medical record number (MRN) and a MyUofMHealth account are also required to register for and track the vaccine.

If you already have an active Michigan Medicine MRN and MyUofMHeath account you do not need to do anything further at this time. You will receive a notification in your MyUofMHealth portal when it is time to schedule your vaccine appointment.

If you do not have a Michigan Medicine MRN and/or a MyUofMHealth account you should follow the steps below to ease the registration process when it is time for your vaccination.

  • If you have a Michigan Medicine MRN but do not have the MyUofMHealth account you should fill out this online form: https://www.myuofmhealth.org/MyChart-PRD/Signup. If you do not remember your MRN, you may enter all zeros to expedite this process.
  • If you do not have a Michigan Medicine MRN or MyUofMHealth account, please register by calling 734-936-4990 and press option 1 between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The representative will assist you with establishing an MRN and setting up your MyUof MHealth account.

Summary information regarding the vaccine program can be found on the COVID-19 website. Michigan Medicine has a frequently updated FAQ on its website which includes key information for U-M faculty, staff and students. MDHHS has posted the State’s COVID-19 vaccination prioritization plan and frequently asked questions online.
