Resources for Employees
Faculty and staff who need to take leave as required by their military service obligations or are returning from a leave due to military service who have questions or concerns, are encouraged to contact Human Resources at 313-593-5190 or HumanResourcesDearborn@umich.edu. Veterans who are persons with disabilities who have questions about reasonable accommodations should also contact Human Resources.
Resources For Students
Support for students who are veterans is available from Veteran Services in Room 2170 of the University Center. Veterans are encouraged to stop by or call the Office at 313-436-9196 or DearbornVeterans@umich.edu. The office is led and staffed with military veterans who are there to support student veterans to navigate any issues they may encounter. In addition, the staff is trained to disseminate information concerning the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefit programs.

Resources for Students
Students can learn more about the LGBTQ+ community through workshops, speakers, movies, and trainings. There are also social programs which allow LGBTQ+ students to meet each other and allies. The Center for Social Justice and Inclusion also offers a programming space called the InCLUDE (2130 University Center) that provides an environment where Inclusion, Civic Engagement, Leadership, Understanding, Diversity & Equity are paramount. Lactation Rooms
Lactation rooms are available on campus for use by students, faculty and staff of the University of Michigan-Dearborn who are breastfeeding.
Salaries of employees working at the University are considered public information.
As a federal contractor, the University will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant. However, employees who have access to the compensation information of other employees or applicants as a part of their essential job functions cannot disclose the pay of other employees or applicants to individuals who do not otherwise have access to compensation information, unless the disclosure is (a) in response to a formal complaint or charge, (b) in furtherance of an investigation, proceeding, hearing, or action, including an investigation conducted by the employer, or (c) consistent with the contractor’s legal duty to furnish information.
