Ford Smart Mobility and Connected Vehicle Analytics
IISE (Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers) Seminar Series

Abstract

Ford Motor Company is a mobility company, not just a manufacturer of vehicles, and has been on this journey far longer than most people realize. As the world changes, the company that reinvented itself with the “whiz kids” is taking a new data and analytics approach to address global trends. We focus particularly on connected vehicles. They are providing new insights into on-road vehicle use, but analyzing the data is challenging due to its size, noise, and lack of completeness. We describe how we recast these challenges as opportunities, and deliver business value through data scientists who are trusted advisors to the corporation.
