Negotiating Boundaries in the #MeToo Era

Wednesday, April 17
9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Michigan Rooms
Fairlane Center South (FCS)

The #MeToo movement has been a powerful force in bringing to light harmful behaviors. But how does a social movement change from an idea to implementing real social change? Please join us as we begin to negotiate boundaries in the #MeToo era.

The day will include:

  • Our Keynote Speaker Morgan Jerkins, author of This Will Be My Undoing, will present: Capitalism and Abuse: How Ecosystems of Power Create Victims
  • A faculty panel discussion on The #MeToo Era: Perspectives of UM-Dearborn Professors
  • A screening of Prof. Jennifer Proctor's film, Am I Pretty? during lunch
  • Afternoon workshops: Combatting the Trivialization of Sexual Assault in the Age of the #MeToo Movement (presented by Benita Robinson) and Asserting my space… to define, assert and hold my boundaries from a place of internal self acceptance (presented by Heidi Sproull)
