Three Minute Thesis Competition

Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic research communication competition originally developed by the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. The competition required students to effectively summarize their research in three minutes or less, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Competitors are allowed one PowerPoint slide, but no other resources or props. Competitors must have recently completed or be working on a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation. 

Why participate:

  • Share your work with the greater university community. 
  • Develop academic, presentation, and research communication skills. 
  • Each competitor will receive a $30 gift card to the Bookstore. 
  • Campus winner will receive an additional $200 gift card to the Bookstore and will go on to represent UM-Dearborn Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools regional competition in Grand Rapids, MI with travel expenses paid by the University.
