Chancellor’s Town and Gown Bike Ride

Please join Chancellor Domenico Grasso and Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud for a fun, relaxing and community-focused bike ride through campus and the west Dearborn area. 

The 10K (or 6.2 mile) bike ride loop is designed for beginner riders. 

There will also be a 5K (or 3.1 mile) MHealthy walk option for participants. 

Please bring a helmet and lock (if desired) for the bike ride. Volunteers will be on site to watch over bikes at planned stops. 

There will be bike and walk guides during the event. Extra precautions will be arranged when crossing Michigan Avenue.

Meet in Parking Lot F, behind the Fieldhouse (labeled FH/WC on the map)

4:15 pm 

Brief welcome by Chancellor Grasso and Mayor Hammoud

4:20 pm 

Bike ride etiquette and safety overview 

4:30 pm 

Bike ride begins 

Walk begins 

Mayor Hammoud remarks at Dearborn Transit Station 

5:15 pm 

Meet up at Wagner Place Park in west Dearborn 

6:00 pm 

Return to UM-Dearborn for refreshments 

7:00 pm
