Join us for a conversation with UM-Dearborn alum Steve Maier, on how to diversify your experience towards a goal. Mr. Maier will share his professional experience with the Transportation Security Administration, where he managed the largest peacetime recruitment program since WWII. He will touch on the need for flexibility, necessary skill sets, critical thinking, and managing stressful situations.

Steve Maier BioSteve Maier is currently the President of Management Concepts, an enthusiastic leader who prioritizes people and customers. He focuses on fostering strong business relationships with top-tier executives, guiding the company's vision and mission, and overseeing strategy, business development, and operations to enhance the quality and delivery of training, professional development, and talent management services.
Throughout his career, Steve has been actively involved in the Federal Government marketplace and possesses valuable knowledge of workforce development, technology, leadership, and trends. Steve has experience in large scale defense systems integration, software solutions, building global delivery teams, and optimizing revenue and profitability.
Additionally, he serves as the Board Chairman of CIVDEF LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, CEO Advisor to Exceed LLC a Minority Owned HUBZONE Business, and a former board member for Privia, a software developer.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn (’78) and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University (’85).
