The Hub for Teaching and Learning is excited to announce that Dr. Bryan Dewsbury (Associate Professor of Biology at Florida International University) will be a scholar in residence at UM Dearborn for the 2022-2023 academic year offering a multi-part program on inclusive teaching. Prof. Dewsbury spoke at UM Dearborn in February of 2021 and will be returning this year to facilitate deep engagement with inclusive teaching on a monthly basis. The first of these events will be an on-site visit on Thursday, September 29th which will include a keynote talk, an extended Q+A and group work time on inclusive design.

12pm-1pm Extended Q+A and Lunch

Prior to this session participants will be given opportunities to submit questions via an anonymous survey (pre-arrival) and notecard drop box (after morning talk). This session will be used to respond to questions that came up from both. Time will be made available for those comfortable asking questions in the moment.

1:30pm-3pm Project plan development workshop

In this session, participants will use a list of suggested inclusive strategies to focus in on what they would like to implement in the upcoming year. Guidance would be given on designing assessment strategies and development plans for the strategies chosen.
