2022 UM-Dearborn Homecoming Sept 19-24

Check out what’s happening around campus in celebration of Homecoming 2022!

Pep Rally
1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, Chancellor’s Pond
There will be music, a few words of Dearborn Wolverine pride and refreshments to start off Homecoming week right.

Boat Races
2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, Chancellor’s Pond
Using a boat frame made entirely of cardboard, students test their creative thinking and engineering skills to see if their boat — with someone in it — can make it across Chancellor’s Pond and back the fastest with their boat afloat and in one piece. Last year the Graduate Indian Student Organization took first place. Watch as they defend their title. Whether you win, lose or just watch, there will be free cider and donuts.

Ice Skating
4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, Fieldhouse
Grab your skates and practice your Triple Lutz — or feel free to hold on to the rink edges — at the Fieldhouse’s open skate. Register to attend this free family-friendly event. BYOS (Bring your own skates) or borrow some for free. Popular sizes are available at the service desk near the rink on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be snacks!

SAB Carnival
2-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, University Center patio
Play games, test your golf prowess with inflatable chip shot golf, make Build-A-Bear inspired snuggle friends, and more! While enjoying the atmosphere, you can also grab some pizza.

Maize & Blue Bowl
6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, field south of the CASL Building
Dearborn Wolverine alumni take on students during the campus’ flag football game, the Maize and Blue Bowl, for the trophy. You can register to join the 2022 alumni team; students can register for the student team here

Wolverine's Watch: Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Sunset (about 7:45/8 p.m.), Wednesday, Sept. 21, University Center patio
In the words of Ferris Bueller, “life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Inspired by those words, campus is hosting a movie night to hang out with family, friends and Wolverines while watching the 1986 film Ferris Bueller on a 17-foot screen. There will be picnic areas set up, but feel free to bring chairs and blankets. If it rains, we’ll move the party into the UC.

Homecoming Dance
7-10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, University Center Kochoff Hall
It’s time to party like it’s 1999. Whether you are going the velour tracksuit route or planning to go overboard with cute kitschy accessories (butterfly clips, we see you), find the best Y2K-themed outfit to wear for the 2022 Homecoming dance.

Golden Jubilee Celebration
Thursday, Sept. 22
In 1972, paraphrasing the Carpenters, they had only just begun. Now the UM-Dearborn Class of 1972 celebrates their 50-year anniversary milestone at the Golden Jubilee Celebration. Classes of 1962-1972 are welcome to join in this invite-only reunion. For more information, go here.

Athletics Hall of Fame
Friday, Sept. 23
The UM-Dearborn Department of Athletics & Recreation is proud to honor the very best of campus’ outstanding alumni base as members of the Athletics Hall of Fame at this Homecoming week luncheon. See who’s inducted this year. Want to know more? Email Athletics.

Alumni Difference Maker Awards
Friday, Sept. 23
At the annual Alumni Difference Makers Awards, the university honors Dearborn Wolverines who positively impact their workplaces and communities and serve as strong role models for a new generation of UM-Dearborn student leaders. This is an invite-only event, but you can watch the livestream starting at 6:50 p.m. Sept. 23. For more information, contact umdalumni@umich.edu or call 313-593-5131.

UM-Dearborn Homecoming Tailgate and Hockey Game
5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, field south of the CASL Building
Attend a campus tailgate with free food and prizes, lawn games, music, maize and blue face painting and more. The tailgate is followed by the 7 p.m. Men's Ice Hockey game against Grand Valley State University. RSVP here.

Michigan vs Maryland Homecoming Football Game and Tailgate
Starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, UM-Ann Arbor
Michigan football takes on the Maryland Terrapins during the Homecoming football game. Get your tickets to gather before the game at the Alumni Territory Homecoming Tailgate or be part of the action during the noon game at the Big House. Go Blue!
