CFW Mentorship Mixer #1

  • Tuesday, February 18, 2020
  • 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
  • Kochoff Hall-C, University Center (UC)

The Commission for Women is excited to announce our new mentorship initiative. The benefits of having a mentorship relationship are invaluable. We would like to help facilitate these relationships by pairing interested faculty and staff with one another, both as mentors and as mentees. Participation is open to all female-identified staff and faculty on campus who responded to campus-wide emails calling for participants in both roles.

Some benefits for mentors include but are not limited to:

  • The satisfaction of sharing knowledge and experience

  • The chance to help development the next generation of academic and professional staff and faculty

  • An opportunity for productive reflection on your own leadership and enduring contribution

  • Greater understanding of the mentoring process and improved capacity to mentor

  • Enhanced self-esteem through recognition of continuing professional contribution

At this first Mentor Mixer Event, mentees will meet and get to know volunteer mentors. At the end of the program, mentees will be asked to submit their top three choices for mentors, and will be notified after the event who they matched with.

Light food and refreshments will be provided. This event required previous registration (links sent via email to campus) due to limited capacity.

Past CFW Events

In addition to the annual Susan B. Anthony Awards event, the Commission for Women sponsors an array of events each year. Here are a few of our past events.

Luncheon Series

Whether it is a panel discussion, workshop, or speaker event, CFW provides a light lunch and an opportunity for faculty and staff on campus to gather around an interesting and relevant topic or issue.

CFW Luncheon Series Presents: "Finance 201: Beyond the Basics of Personal Finance"

  • Date: Monday, Jan. 27, 2020
  • Time: Noon -1:30 pm
  • Location: Kochoff C

Have you ever wanted to move beyond the basics when it comes to personal finance? Topics may include budgeting, retirement, credit, debt, and more.

Professional Development

Our professional development events help faculty and staff to learn and grow their careers and professional skills.

Health and wellness

CFW knows that success is holistic, so we also sponsor events that foster health and wellness for faculty and staff on campus.
