Faculty and Staff Campaign set for March 16-April 17
They aren’t just students. They’re future teachers, engineers, business leaders and physicians who are pursing careers they are passionate about, and pursuing careers for the sake of the people around them.
Bruce Maxim, associate professor of Computer and Information Science, understands the passion students bring to campus each and every day.
That’s why Maxim plans to participate in this year’s Faculty and Staff Campaign, which runs March 16 to April 17. The campaign supports the belief that the university’s future success begins with the commitment of its faculty and staff.
“I believe that, no matter our role, we can make a difference in the educational path of the students on campus,” he said. “And those same students go on to make a huge impact in our region.”
The support of faculty and staff certainly has made a lasting impact on aspiring future physician Miriam Bukhsh (’14). The recent UM-Dearborn graduate spent much of her time on campus researching triple negative breast cancer. The sense of support she received from faculty showed her their desire to make the extra effort, as educators, to invest in a student’s education, and to show them that you care beyond the classroom.
“It is because of the love and support from the UM-Dearborn community who donated to make sure this university had the resources it needs that I am where I am today,” said Bukhsh.
The Faculty and Staff Campaign focuses on encouraging employee participation, rather than a specific dollar amount. Faculty and staff are encouraged to give to any area of campus and can choose where they would like to allocate their gift.
We encourage all faculty and staff to participate in the 2015 Faculty and Staff Campaign. If you have any questions about the campaign please visit the giving page or contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 313-593-5130.
