Increasing COVID Cases and Masking (May 20, 2022)
Dear Colleagues and Students,
In recent weeks, southeast Michigan has seen an uptick in the number of COVID cases and hospitalizations related to infections. The CDC indicates Wayne County and the surrounding counties have a community level of “high.”
Based on this indicator, the CDC recommends wearing a mask indoors in public, staying up to date with COVID vaccines and getting tested if you have symptoms.
Currently, UM-Dearborn is NOT requiring mask-wearing inside classrooms and other public spaces. However, it is strongly recommended that you wear a mask while indoors on campus.
Please remember if you are not feeling well or experiencing symptoms of illness, please stay home.
We will continue to monitor data for Wayne County and make any necessary changes to the masking policy on campus if warranted.
Stay Safe - Go Blue - Go Dearborn!
