Employees
New Employees (Full time/Non-student temporary) Full time staff and non-student temporary employees create their own uniqnames and UMICH password through the Human Resources hiring process. Once a uniqname is created, the hiring department must inform the ITS Accounts Office for creation of Dearborn access.
- New Faculty - New Faculty can be processed through the ITS Accounts Office. Requests from departments for new faculty who have a UMID number must be emailed to umd-accounts@umich.edu and include the new hire's Full Name, UMID number, birth date and personal email address.
- Access to Departmental Shared Files - Departments must send an email to the ITS Service Desk at umd-helpdesk@umich.edu to authorize access to shared departmental files. The email must include full name, uniqname and UMID number.
Student Employees - Students employees will continue to use their current uniqname and UMICH password. Departments must send an email to the ITS Service Desk to authorize access to shared departmental files. The email must include full name, uniqname, UMID number and, the shared files to be accessed.
NOTE: Departments are required to notify the ITS Accounts Office whenever a staff person terminates their employment or transfers to another campus department so access to shared files can be removed from the server
