Campus launches strategic planning process
A university white paper outlines the importance of a campus-wide strategic plan.
To begin UM-Dearborn’s strategic planning process, the university has developed a white paper, Confronting the Challenges of a New Era – A Call to Action. The paper outlines the need for and importance of creating a campus-wide strategic plan and articulates core values, performance principles and strategic opportunities that our community should consider during the planning process. Faculty and staff are encouraged to read the paper, share thoughts online and attend UM-Dearborn Conversations on Tuesday, Jan. 29, for further discussion.
Strategic Planning Resources
Throughout the strategic planning process resources will be shared with campus — news and journal articles, TEDX talks, books, webinars, etc. — aimed at sharing key insights and trends that relate to higher education from leaders in their fields.
One such leader, Pontiac, Mich., native and Harvard President Lawrence Bacow will participate in a webcast conversation titled "Challenging Times in Higher Education" on Wednesday, January 30, at noon. This session is part of Harvard's Voices in Leadership series. The webcast will automatically play on the page at noon on Wednesday and an archived video (plus a blog, SoundCloud version and transcript) also will be housed under the same link following the event.
