Entrepreneur Huda Kattan,’08 B.B.A., will address Fall 2021 graduates

Commencement will take place at UM-Dearborn’s Fieldhouse with several small ceremonies occurring on Dec. 18 and 19. Get the details.

UM-Dearborn Wolverines will celebrate a life milestone while hearing from internationally renowned alumna, entrepreneur and Huda Beauty CEO Huda Kattan, 08 B.B.A.

Fall 2021 commencement ceremonies will include remarks — some of which will be recorded in advance — by the chancellor, provost, dean of the college, a U-M Regent, student speaker and commencement speaker Kattan. Kattan is a Hollywood-trained makeup artist and content creator who studied in campus' College of Business. A lifelong passion for beauty led her to cultivate a billion dollar business with a roster of clientele including A-list celebrities in Hollywood and several royal families across the Middle East. She will speak at all ceremonies, which will all take place in the Fieldhouse.

Graduating students need to register to participate in commencement. Each registered graduate will receive six tickets, with two ticket-holders sitting next to the graduate in front of the stage, and four people in the general seating area.

The smaller, spread out ceremonies — each ceremony is capped at 175 graduates — will be approximately 90 minutes each on Saturday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 19. They'll be organized by college.

Saturday, Dec. 18
10 a.m. – College of Education, Health, and Human Services 
1 p.m. – College of Business 
4 p.m. – College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters 

Sunday, Dec. 19
Noon – College of Engineering and Computer Science (ceremony 1)
3 p.m. – College of Engineering and Computer Science (ceremony 2)
