Regents Round-up for December 2021
Faculty honors and commencement plans were shared at the December Board of Regents meeting.
During the Dec. 9 Board of Regents’ meeting, Chancellor Domenico Grasso acknowledged Associate Professor of Mathematics Yunus Zeytuncu who was named a Michigan Association of State Universities Professor of the Year. Associate Professor Zeytuncu and his family were in attendance to be formally recognized by the Regents.
Chancellor Grasso also provided updates regarding the fall semester commencement plans, news of a European study abroad experience tailored for our students and progress on the development of a College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters problem-based learning (PBL) initiative meant to enrich students' experience in the Arts next year. PBL themes were selected to reflect the college's strengths and align with areas of employment opportunities in the region. Additional information on this initiative will be shared in the new year.
