The July 15 Board of Regents meeting featured a variety of agenda items relating to UM-Dearborn, including the creation of the new Equity, Civil Rights and Title IX Office (ECRT) and the announcement of three new associate deans.
The July 15 Board of Regents meeting featured a variety of agenda items relating to UM-Dearborn, including the creation of the new Equity, Civil Rights and Title IX Office (ECRT) on the three U-M campuses and a renewed commitment to educational and prevention initiatives to address sexual misconduct, academic and administrative faculty appointments and college executive committee appointments.
Chancellor Domenico Grasso shared a commitment to making the campus safe and welcoming for the entire community and provided an update on flood damage and recovery.
And UM-Dearborn’s bylaws that incorporate the following: defining the charge of the Faculty Senate Promotion and Tenure Committee; changing pronouns to be gender-inclusive; consistently defining the governing faculty; and correcting spelling inconsistencies were approved.
The personnel actions below were approved at the meeting.

Di Ma, associate dean for graduate education and research, CECS, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025 (also associate professor of computer and information science, with tenure).
Brahim Medjahed, associate dean for undergraduate education, CECS, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025 (also professor of computer and information science, with tenure, CECS, and associate dean for academic programs and initiatives, Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies, U-M-Ann Arbor).
